About Me
Hi, I'm Jack. Welcome to my website. It's an online portfolio, really. Feel free to have a snoop around... you might see something you like :)
I'm a web designer working and living in the North West of England, specifically Lancashire. It's where I was born and raised and I love it! I did manage to tear myself away for a brief period and studied Interactive Media Production at Bournemouth University. I come from an art & design background and take an individual approach to each website I produce.
I'm currently work for a large directory firm in Lancashire, making websites for small businesses and large-scale eCommerce companies nationwide. I have worked in this position for over two years and, as such, have a wealth of experience when it comes to dealing with clients and meeting strict deadlines.
I am comfortable with search engine optimisation, working to modern web design compliancy standards and am experienced in Flash animation and graphic design. For more information on what I can do, see the skills & services page.
Interests
Things that interest me - other than web design, obviously - include music, film and the odd bit of sport. You already know I'm a northerner, but I have a season ticket at Burnley FC's glorious Turf Moor (for my sins) and I'm also a life-long follower of the slightly more successful Manchester United.
I'm into all kinds of music but I particularly love electronic music like The Chemical Brothers, Orbital and Underworld. I dabble with DJing in my spare time and I'm a massive fan of DJs and producers such as Sasha, John Digweed and Tom Middleton - I could write a huge list here, but I don't want to bore you. Let's not forget about the older stuff either. My parents' influence shines through in the shape of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles.
I love film, but that's nothing particularly unique because everyone loves film. It's probably fair to say that my DVD shelf is under more pressure than most though and if I've got a spare hour or two I like nothing better than cranking the surround sound up and (more than probably) annoying the neighbours. I think it might be impossible to choose a favourite film, but here's a few select cuts: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, American Psycho and The Big Lebowski. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm quite happy watching cheesy horrors and action movies too!
Well, I'm sure you've got plenty to go on with there. If you'd like to know more, just get in touch.
